Main Description

Set the incident's priority according to impact and urgency. Use the Incident Management Framework to identify how impact and urgency can be used to calculate priority.  There may be occasions when priority should be overridden, such as if the requestor wants the priority to be increased, if the requestor has an important status, or if special situations exist. 

The priority may be changed as needed during the lifecycle of the incident. 

Determine if the incident should be handled as a major incident.
