Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identifies incidents related to facilities management installation, update, configuration, operations, or performance
  • Resolves facilities incidents
  • Responds to facilities requests
  • Understands hardware environment options related to the interaction with the operating environment
  • Has knowledge of the client's availability and performance requirements of the hardware and software configuration
  • Understands usual components of facility planning including:
    • Electrical Planning
    • Emergency/Disaster Planning
    • Environment Planning
    • Fire Protection Planning
    • Mechanical Planning
    • Physical Security Planning
    • Systems Availability Planning
  • Provides advice on facility environment requirements including:
    • Space and layout of space
    • Power requirements
    • Communication requirements
    • Air and water cooling requirements
    • Furnishings such as chairs, desks, cabinets, racks, etc.
