Task: Identify Improvement Objectives and Limitations
Disciplines: Capacity Management
Relationships
Main Description

The purpose of this activity is to ensure that the improvement objectives and limitations are clearly defined and understood before embarking on the analysis of options. The analysis of options that will provide the required improvement should be guided by the following: time to implement, cost to implement, disruption, benefit required, financial constraints, and policies and standards currently used by the organization (For example preferred vendors and service providers, change management practices, change freezes). If performing this process activity in order to restore service (That is address an Incident), then apply an appropriate degree of urgency to each of the tasks and potentially limit the time expended.
