Gather, organize, and prepare operational monitoring working data to enable analysis of the data. Summarize and create data management metric data.

Specifically, gather data from different sources to show use, performance, availability, service levels, and incidents. Jobs are run on each platform to collect this data, and it is stored in files or repositories that can be used for reporting.

Track the status of system resources for usage, activity (I/O's, idle time, etc.). Keep statistics for various time frames to report on variances over time. Report on data that would show new incidents.

Reports should make it possible to easily identify areas of improvement with respect to steady-state operations and services.
