Details

IBM® Tivoli® Netcool/OMNIbus collects, consolidates, de-duplicates and correlates information from more than 1,000 network management platforms and devices, and presents real-time user-configurable views of faults, network, service and business status. Environments supported by Netcool/OMNIbus include business applications, Windows® and UNIX® systems, data switches, voice switches, IP routers, and frameworks.

The Netcool ObjectServer™, the core component of Netcool/OMNIbus, is a high-speed memory-resident database that collects fault information throughout the network infrastructure. The integrated correlation capabilities of Netcool/OMNIbus, Netcool/Precision and Netcool/Impact enriching data held within the common ObjectServer Repository enable the management of Service affecting Events, Problems and Incidents through common user interfaces and tools. Service affecting Incidents are quickly identified and highlighted in the Operator Desktop making use of the configurable filters and views to provide a consolidated view of current Service status. Escalation processes may be implemented automatically within OMNIbus or manually at the User interface to escalate Service issues that are not resolved within specified time periods.

Netcool/Webtop provides similar views to the native Desktop and provides additional configurable graphical maps and views for current Service status overview with drill-down capability to view the underlying events related to each Service.

The Netcool/OMNIbus repository is also the primary event source for Netcool/RAD which provides advanced real-time analysis of Service Availability and Performance against SLA criteria. Netcool/OMNIbus Gateway integrations to RDBMS systems provide an export and archive capability that coupled with Netcool/Reporter provide historical analysis and reporting of event and service data. Context sensitive tools within the Desktop may be configured to launch views from Reporter showing historical data for the affected Services. Detailed historical analysis and reporting is provided within the Reporter User interface and optionally regular automated report generation.

Netcool/OMNIbus at the core of the Netcool suite provides real-time Service status data to the user, and is the backbone of the integrated products within the suite that provide both current status, and ongoing historical performance analysis and reporting through powerful graphical Dashboard style tools.
