Details

Tivoli® Network Manager (TNM) automatically discovers network devices, their configuration, and connectivity. This network information is modeled in the Network Connectivity and Information Model (NCIM) -- a standards-based network inventory and topology model for OSI layer 1, 2, and 3 network technologies.

This network model captures detailed information on each configuration item: device capacity and utilization, customer information, port and circuit provisioning state, active services, connectivity, and other critical configuration data.

The TNM reports are easily customized to provide detailed configuration item listings and profiles. The default set of reports shipped as part of the solution includes reports on the services provisioned over the network infrastructure and what ports and slots are unused.

Through these reports, and custom reports, enterprises and service providers can immediately visualize where, and how, port under utilization can be constraining network revenue or generating unnecessary capital and operation expenses.
