The PRM-IT documentation is available as a large, single PDF file. It should be noted that the process
modeling notation used in PRM-IT is IDEF0 notation. IDEF0 notation was originally created to model the decisions,
actions, and activities of an organization or team. It is primarily used within the US government, although there
are a number of applications outside the government. PRM-IT uses IDEF0 diagrams to hierarchically decompose
process categories into processes, and decompose processes into activities. The diagrams also show information
flow between those elements. The diagrams do not show workflow, although a workflow is often implied from the
inputs and outputs.
This documentation includes several sections:
-
Introduction – high-level description of PRM-IT and its context.
-
Process references – organized by category. This is the main content.
-
Collection of all IDEF0 diagrams – useful for seeing the structure of all processes.
-
IDEF0 node tree – decomposition of all processes and activities.
-
Glossary of all inputs, outputs, and controls.
You can download the documentation either as a large, single document, or as individual files.
Single document (intended use is for searching and having everything in one file, but large and can be slower to
download).
Individual files (intended use is to break information by process categories; faster to download)
