With IBM® Tivoli® Usage and Accounting Manager you can perform financial analysis functions from your desktop simply
and easily using only your web browser. The IT accounting and chargeback data that is consolidated by Tivoli Decision
Support for z/OS and a wide variety of other data collectors is stored in a relational database and presented to the
end-user through a series of web based reports and/or spreadsheets. This tool provides a framework of extensive
reporting capabilities that allow you to analyze your budget and revenue data to make informed decisions on the
effectiveness of your IT processes.
Expense data is stored in a series of relational database tables that includes information such as utilization
consumption date, billing date, account code and unique identifiers (used for drilldown or account code conversion).
Revenue data includes fields for the billing period, account code, rate and extended cost. The relational database is
connected "live" to the reporting system so as the data within the database changes, these changes are reflected in the
reports.
IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager contains an extremely powerful account code conversion functionality that
allows the application of costs to various account structures within the Enterprise. It is possible to tailor the
reporting by account to accommodate such diverse philosophies as Org Chart Reporting, P & L reporting, ABC/ABM
and/or G/L.
Details on specific analysis functions can be found in the IBM Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager Administrator's
Guide version 5.1, Chapter 3 Setting Up the System.
