The IBM® Tivoli® License Compliance Manager (TLM) is used to manage software license compliance. Software inventory and
use information is automatically generated by Tivoli License Compliance Manager for distributed data. License (and
optionally contract) data must be imported or entered into TLM before software use occurs for this activity to be
executed.
Combining the inventory and use data with the agreement, licensing and financial information allows you to view
products that have no license and/or to compare license metrics to actual use.
For example, the Review License Compliance Data view shows the quantity of licenses available and the quota used for
each license at the specified time. It also provides a high-water mark value, indicating the highest level of use
during a selected period leading up to the specified time. This helps you to identify out of compliance situations and
under use of licenses.
Select a license in the Compliance of licenses table, and click View Product Use to view details of
the product use for that license.
The unlicensed use report provides a view of the products that were being used at a specified time when no valid
license was available. This includes products for which the quantity of licenses used exceeds the quantity available
and products for which there is no available license.
The license use trend analysis report provides a graphical representation of trends in the use of a selected license
during a specified period.
This chart plots licenses used against time, over the period you specified. Line format chart type is available too.
