RUP is a reference model for the development of software and systems. ITUP Solution Development processes are used to develop the solutions that provide IT services. Many of the RUP disciplines overlap with the ITUP Solution Development processes. As can be seen below, the RUP disciplines are more detailed, whereas the ITUP processes are fairly generic.
